When choosing a necktie as part of a uniform, a few things regarding saftey should be considered:

Accidents:

The normal necktie is worn and tied around the neck. If employees work around dangerous machinery there is a potential risk of choking on the necktie. If this is true for your business, saftey clip-on ties are recommended. Clip-on ties are not worn around the neck, but instead a re a pre-tied necktie that gets clipped onto the shirt’s collar.

Health considerations:

Neckties are not suited to be washed like regular clothes, and if at all need to be dry-cleaned. Many employees are not willing to to spend their own money to do this. Although the risk of illness resulting from germs on neckties is very minimal, it is recommended that the employer provides new ties two or three times a year. Not only does this reduce health risks, but it also ensures that the company uniform is kept to the highest standard.
